As Russia, Iran, and Turkey meet to discuss Idlib, thousands of people in northwest Syria made it clear what they want to be agreed in Tehran.

Across Idlib’s towns, cities, and villages, people demanded freedom from Assad’s rule and an end to Russian and Syrian war crimes. With banners raised, they asked the international community to stop an imminent assault on the province and they called for peace.

The region is home to approximately 3 million civilians. It is predicted that an offensive will displace more than 700,000 people in Aleppo and Idlib and create a humanitarian catastrophe for hundreds of thousands more. Civilians are calling out for an end to the bombing.

“You are not defeated as long as you are resisting”
